چکیده

Developing techniques for real-time monitoring of the complex and dynamic environment in lithium-ion batteries is crucial optimal use cells to develop next generation batteries. In this work, we demonstrate fiber optic evanescent wave (FOEW) sensors lithium iron phosphate (LFP) composite cathodes pouch cells. The were placed on top LFP electrodes, found cycle well with significantly improved electrochemical performance compared fully embedded fibers Swagelok Galvanostatic, voltammetric, pulsed current demonstrated that optical response correlated capacity, a clear difference sensor was seen when at surface electrodes cathode. from different rates also investigated, but no apparent influence intensity output even though polarization observed voltage profiles higher currents. It electrolyte itself functioned as cladding salt concentration did not signal. addition, given short penetration depth waves, most likely dominated by conditions electrode particles near sensing region. These findings provide further insight into application FOEW integrated batteries, possibility developing low-cost battery under working conditions.

Capacity Fade Analysis of Sulfur Cathodes in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

Rechargeable lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries are receiving ever-increasing attention due to their high theoretical energy density and inexpensive raw sulfur materials. However, their rapid capacity fade has been one of the key barriers for their further improvement. It is well accepted that the major degradation mechanisms of S-cathodes include low electrical conductivity of S and sulfides, pre...

Light-assisted delithiation of lithium iron phosphate nanocrystals towards photo-rechargeable lithium ion batteries

Recently, intensive efforts are dedicated to convert and store the solar energy in a single device. Herein, dye-synthesized solar cell technology is combined with lithium-ion materials to investigate light-assisted battery charging. In particular we report the direct photo-oxidation of lithium iron phosphate nanocrystals in the presence of a dye as a hybrid photo-cathode in a two-electrode syst...

High-purity iron pyrite (FeS2) nanowires as high-capacity nanostructured cathodes for lithium-ion batteries.

Iron pyrite is an earth-abundant and inexpensive material that has long been interesting for electrochemical energy storage and solar energy conversion. A large-scale conversion synthesis of phase-pure pyrite nanowires has been developed for the first time. Nano-pyrite cathodes exhibited high Li-storage capacity and excellent capacity retention in Li/pyrite batteries using a liquid electrolyte,...

Electrochemical in battery polymerization of poly(alkylenedioxythiophene) over lithium iron phosphate for high-performance cathodes.

A molecular wiring concept was induced in LiFePO4 cathodes by in battery polymerization methods. This was performed by the addition of alkylthiophene monomers over the LiFePO4-based cathode during the first charging step in lithium test cells. The driving force for the in battery polymerization of the monomers was supplied by the oxidizing current and by the physical contact of monomers with de...
